Lori Dewson
Here I am, packed into one of two university vans with twelve other students, two professors and bundles of camping and research gear, heading ever south to Chaco Canyon and the small pueblo we are assigned to excavate - Trader Ruin.
I can’t wait to get there for a couple of reasons. The first reason, of course, is for the experience. Yet another notch on my resume when I have left the university. But, just as important is my second reason - the reason that will help me graduate with my Ph.D. That reason is to continue my search for evidence to further my dissertation. I hope to find more ceramic samples to examine and compare against the ranch pottery.
Research seems never-ending yet each new experience brings new hope for answers.
